The smallest vehicle on the GMC lineup, the Terrain was first introduced back for the 2010 model year. Hard to believe that it’s already been 15 years since the compact crossover made its debut, but now we’re in the final year of its second generation. That’s right, the 2024 GMC Terrain will be the last second-gen model before its third generation is unveiled for the 2025 model year. Until that model becomes available, the 2024 Terrain remains an outstanding option in its segment. We wanted to showcase exactly what makes it so great, so we thought we’d dive into some of its technical specs and highlight a few of its most exciting features & technologies.
The following table includes the key specifications that really show you what the 2024 GMC Terrain has to offer. Power output, fuel economy ratings, cargo space and passenger space are the four pillars of a crossover utility vehicle like this, so that’s what we highlight in the table.
Horsepower | 175 hp |
Torque | 203 lb-ft. |
City Fuel Efficiency (FWD) | 24 mpg |
Highway Fuel Efficiency (FWD) | 29 mpg |
City Fuel Efficiency (AWD) | 23 mpg |
Highway Fuel Efficiency (AWD) | 28 mpg |
Cargo Capacity | 29.6 cu. ft. |
Max Cargo Capacity | 63.3 cu. ft. |
Passenger Volume | 103.2 cu. ft. |
Passenger Capacity | 5 |
As you can see, the Terrain offers plenty of power for a compact crossover alongside solid fuel efficiency both through the city and on the highway. It offers nearly 30 cubic feet of space behind its rear seats, or up to 63.3 cu. ft. when those seats are dropped flat. With all of the seats up, though you’ll have 103.2 cu. ft. for you and up to four additional passengers to stretch and get comfortable.
Even though this is the final version of the second-generation Terrain, GMC still made a couple of upgrades this year. The 2024 GMC Terrain is offered with two new premium exterior color options in the form of Riptide Metallic and Downpour Metallic. In addition, GMC Pro Safety Plus has been made standard on the AT4 trim level and available on both SLE and SLT. The suite of safety features now includes Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert in addition to its other technologies. On top of these adjustments, there are plenty of other great features and technologies to get excited about:
Some of the features are available across the board, others are available on lower trims but standard on others and so on. If you’d like to know exactly which features a specific trim level you’re looking at offers, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You can also contact us with any questions that you might have about the 2024 GMC Terrain or any other Buick/GMC vehicle for that matter.
